GET AN ESTIMATE
  • Why do you provide estimates instead of bids?

At AAA Pump Co., we provide estimates because the exact conditions underground are unknown and can vary significantly.

  • What are the setback requirements for well locations?

    Setbacks:

    • 50’ from septic tanks
    • 100’ from lateral lines
    • 100’ from single-family lagoons/animal feeding operations
    • 50’ from existing wells

    Conditions:

    • Avoid low spots
    • Ensure good drainage

You can learn more about setback requirements using this link:

  • Is electricity needed to drill a well?

No, electricity is not required to drill a well with AAA Pump Co.

  • How is a residential well drilled?

    1. Initial Drilling: We start with a 9” bit and drill down to the desired depth (80' minimum in central Missouri). We must have 30' of solid rock at very bottom to seal casing.
    2. Casing Installation: We set a 6” casing to the bottom of the hole and pour concrete around it to seal out contamination.
    3. Water Search: We use a 6” bit and hammer inside the casing to find water. We continue drilling until the desired flow rate is achieved (e.g., 25 gallons per minute for an average household).
    4. Air Test: We blow air down the hole for 10-15 minutes to ensure consistent water volume.
    5. Completion: We remove tools and finalize the well setup.
  • Do I need a liner in my well?

We recommend liners to prevent the need for drilling a new well if your pump gets stuck due to a cave-in.

  • Where can pressure tanks be installed?

    1. Well House Installation: In a well house next to the well. A heater is necessary during winter to prevent freezing.
    2. House Installation: Inside the house with a pitless adapter at the well, creating a frost-free setup. The room should have a floor drain for future tank replacement.
    3. Buried Installation: Outside the well casing with the pressure switch inside the well casing. We do not recommend this method due to potential issues.
